Using CBD Oil

CBD is the abbreviation for “cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is one of the substances from the hemp of the CBD plant. It is sold as a food supplement, in the form of oil and capsules, and as an ingredient in other products, for example care products for skin problems. Many MS patients also use CBD, in the form of oil.

What is the difference between hemp oil and CBD oil?

Hemp plants and hemp plants are not the same plants but are from the same (CBD) family and therefore both can be called (medicinal) CBD plants. Therefore, when you read something about CBDsomewhere, it can be about both hemp oil and CBD oil (CBD). The biggest and most important difference between hemp plants and CBD plants is the fact that hemp plants contain little or no THC and a lot of CBD. Hemp plants, on the other hand, contain a lot of THC and little CBD. Oil with THC (CBD oil) is not legally for sale and in certain situations only available by prescription. CBD oil is for sale completely legally in the Netherlands and most other European countries. However, both ingredients are said to have great medicinal benefits. Because of this, both types of oil are also called medicinal CBD oil.

Does it get you high?

No, you do not get high from CBD oil. Cannabidiol does come from the hemp plant, but it is not addictive, does not have a mind-altering effect, and does not cause hallucinations. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound that causes a “high” feeling and is found in CBD oil.

How to use CBD oil

CBD oil is taken orally. You hold the drops under your tongue for a few seconds and then swallow them. The oral mucosa absorbs the active ingredient quickly.

What is the right dosage?

The dose of CBD oil is highly dependent on the complaints for which you use the oil. Moreover, everyone reacts differently to it. Start with a low dose (for example, two drops per day) and build this up slowly until you have found a dose that is effective for you. It can take a while for CBD oil to take effect. CBD oil is available in different concentrations. Learn more info on evopure brand of CBD oils in this link.

The pharmacy or the coffee shop?

You can buy CBD oil freely through, for example, the coffee shop or online. CBD oil via the Internet, from coffee shops or oil that is made in-house can differ in composition. There is also medicinal CBD available, this is on prescription. The pharmacy guarantees the quality and safety of CBD oil. Medicinal CBD oil from the pharmacy is legal and always contains the same ingredients. So the user knows exactly what he’s getting. In the Netherlands, there are only two pharmacies where you can hand in the prescription for medicinal CBD oil. These are the Transvaal Pharmacy in The Hague and Pharmacy Clinical CBD Care in Breukelen.
